Minutes, 1877-1884.

Minutes, 1877 Feb. 27 - 1884 Mar. 1, from the time the company was organized until the time the minutes book was presented before the U.S. Circuit Court, Northern Fla. District, as evidence in the Pensacola Railroad Co. v. L and N Railroad Co. case on 1884 Mar. 1. There is also a list of stock subscribers to the railroad. The earliest minutes are the records of the organizational meetings, which began 1878 May 4, and at which 3,000 shares of stock were subscribed. Much of the discussion recorded in the minutes is about an alleged breach of contract of the L and N Railroad Co. over property and right-of-way of the Pensacola Railroad Co. in Escambia Co., Ala., but there is also mentioned the case of Barrett and Maxwell, Trustees, v. Pensacola and Louisville Railroad Co., filed in Circuit Court of Leon Co., State of Fla., 1878 Feb. 2, W.D. Chipley, receiver.
